Blue Bird

Blue Bird by Teckelcar
Blue Bird, a photo by Teckelcar on Flickr.
Blue birds are not the most common bird in our backyard and they always catch my eye. Particularly when they land on the bright orange frame of our "bounce back."

It's not the clearest picture, I really need to clean my camera's lens, but it is good enough. I was happy that our bright blue visitor lingered long enough for me to fetch my camera. Normally they just flit through and not perch for any length of time. Maybe it was the lack of activity, canine and human,in our yard that made this picture possible.

Well, he certainly looks fat and sassy. So much fun when they actually sit still for a moment to be admired.

The other day, I happened to glance out at the very top of the neighbor's tree, to see some red. At first I thought I'd seen my first robin of the year, but it was too bright a red. Yep, a cardinal. I can't remember the last time I saw one.

And I should ask - what are you baking for Pi Day?
