Most of my pictures are the result of something catching my eye. When it happens and I have the time, I'm all over the subject. Sometimes I'm stuck with just my cell's far less than ideal camera, but I've learned how best to use it. Other times, like with this picture, I have a proper camera in hand.
A week and a half ago I was walking towards the shady area by the parking lot where band camp takes place. Along the edge of the lot were two tubas, carefully laid out on beach towels. I felt a bit like a magpie the way the shiny brass bells just pulled me in. The warm golden tones with the battered surface begged to be photographed.
