Veterans Day 2011

Amongst the craziness of preparing for Nate's Bar Mitzvah, Larry and I took time out to attend the Veterans Day assembly at Max and Rebecca's school. We were treated with two versions of "America the Beautiful" by the fourth grade.

Max was in the first group that did a lovely a cappella rendition, you can just see him in the middle of the shot (and yes those huge kids surrounding him are really in the fourth grade). Meanwhile Rebecca was in the second group that preformed the song with chimes. Like Max, I tried to center her in the shot.

There were also performances by the third and fourth grades, and a presentation by a father of three in the school who happens to be in the Air Force. It was a lovely way to commemorate Veterans Day.
